Back on the trails again

I thought I’d put a quick post up on here. Sorry for the lack of updates but it’s been a busy time as I have now returned to Knoydart for a second season.

One of the projects I intend on doing over the coming months is a relatively comprehensive mapping of trails in the Western part of the peninsula, the area which has been dubbed “the Black Hills”. This area has now been fenced off from the rest of the estate in order to start the forest regeneration process. It’s a very large area and it will take a while to explore however as it reaches to the coast there are a number of settlements with both new and historic buildings in them it is also the part of the peninsula which has a lot of inhabitants (relatively speaking).

One of the residents is called Roly and he runs a guest house in Sandaig. He has also been working on creating a number of routes in the area which I will be exploring. I walked one of them yesterday and recorded the hike using the AllTrails app. You can see it below. I will be posting other trails as I do them.

That’s it for now. Happy trails to you!
